1. Say dhu wurd owt lowd. Adish spelz sowndz, not histuree. Say the word out loud. Adish spells sounds, not history.
2. Rait eec sownd yoozing dhu alfubet. Left too rait, wun sownd at u taim. Write each sound using the alphabet. Left to right, one sound at a time.
3. Dhu “uh” sownd iz u. Evree unstrest mumbul-vowul in Ingglish (about, sofa, taken, pencil) iz ritun u. Dhis iz wai Adish haz u lot uv u’z. Imbrays it. Every unstressed mumble-vowel in English is written u. This is why Adish has a lot of u’s. Embrace it.
4. If too wurdz sownd dhu saym, dhay ar speld dhu saym. dher (there, their, they’re). too (to, too, two). rait (right, write, rite). If two words sound the same, they’re spelled the same. Context already does this work in speech; text gets the same deal.
5. If wun speling haidz too wurdz, dhay split. read bikumz reed (prezunt) and red (past). live bikumz liv (vurb) and laiv (ajiktiv). If one spelling hides two words, they split. English heteronyms get distinct spellings for free. That’s a bug fix, not a feature request.
6. Propur nownz ar vendurd dependunseez. Naymz uv peepul, playsiz, and brandz keep dher legusee speling until dher oanurz maigrayt dhem. Proper nouns are vendored dependencies. Names keep their legacy spelling until their owners migrate them. You don’t rename someone else’s API.
